MTRE Advanced Technologies Ltd., which develops, manufactures and markets innovative non-invasive solutions for body temperature control, and Adroit Medical Systems have won a tender by Premier Inc., one of the largest purchasing organizations for hospitals and medical facilities in the US. Premier sells to 1,500 hospitals. MTRE says the sales potential of the contract will be $10 million through 2009.
MTRE’s main product is a suit that lowers body temperature in a controlled and non-invasive manner. Called “CritiCold”, the suit circulates water through a disposable refrigeration suit covering the body, which lowers body temperature by three degrees for 24-72 hours, after which it gradually raises body temperature back to normal.
MTRE expects to have $2 million in sale in 2005, and if sales from the present contract are realized in full, the company will become profitable.
Founded in 1998, MTRE has raised $28 million to date. IVC says the company’s shareholders include Platinum Neurone Ventures, Technorov Holdings, Clal Biotechnology Industries Ltd. (CBI), Challenge Fund - Etgar, Koonras, and a group of private investors. |
